RE: Small Advent

Fstein,is right! The Small Advents were marketed to fill the void of a smaller domicile, to which the larger Advents would be to big.Dynaco did this with the A-10, a smaller version of the A-25. It may of sound good, but it was 5/8 particle wood with staples, cloth, great drivers, sorry Small Advent, you were the same. The amp at the time was a 20 watt per channel receiver from Yamaha,Sansui,Pioneer,Kenwood,...the list goes on. Put 2 drivers in a cabinet, and any sound would be fine. The new Pioneer small speaker seems to slap the face of what was to be ok, and with all those reviews, and no ebay shipping or percentage fines the Pioneer might be the way to go. The Advent's logo and grill cloth got it right, it's still very alluring to me. The science of what a speaker the same size can do today will cost you big time, but those smaller speakers today will make the Small Advent a show piece instead of what you really want to hear......just my thoughts....Mark Korda
