I just purchased a Proton 930 receiver, and I started out looking for a pair of Small Advents to use with it. In the process, I think that the Dynaco A25 may be a better way to go--There seems to be more from which to choose, they appear to be an easier load? (I would eventually like to have 2 pairs of whatever I choose), the woofer surrounds would not need to be repaired. Also, they seem to be included somewhere in many people's lists of good vintage speakers...
There is a pair for sale that I am looking at--Is there anything I need to inquire about before purchasing? Also, I notice that almost all of them have brackets in three corners for wall mounting--So I assume that it the designer took this possibility into consideration?
Finally, I have noticed that the cutout for the binding posts are sideways--Because of this, and the fact that there are brackets in three corners, does it mean that horizontal placement would be okay? As a matter of fact, would it be a mistake to assume that horizontal placement may have been the preferred option?
Many thanks in advance!
