Stop looking at ebay and start going to the flee markets, thrift stores and yard sales. You will probably get something for less that $50 that will be overkill for your needs. Really, any good Technics, Yamaha, Scott, Marantz, Sanusui, Niko, Sherwood, Mitsubishi, Denon, etc. reciever would do the job, so be flexible. Maybe you will luck into a Kyocera or Luxman!
Also, don't dismiss, those RadioShack speakers. They acutually are good and can be made into giant killers with some crossover mods outlined on the web. Do a search!
