RE: I have a later production run 2270

I happen to have a 2270 open to replace some bulbs - (a nasty job if you ask me) I've noticed that the service manual and schematic does not match what I've got, as my unit has Phono 1 and Phono 2 inputs, does this denote an early or later set, or a third variation?

As for the numbers, there are what seems to be Fairchild output transistors with Marantz house numbers - S40442 and S40443, a "Plant Code" Label of 7021 inside and outside on the rear a Designed in USA / Made in Japan label bearing a Serial Number of: U452317 - six digits...???

Does this defy all the rules or what?

-Steven
