That's quite a story you have there.I've heard of early 22xx series troubles with undervalued caps.Yours is the most detailed yet..Now I wonder what's exactly under the hood,heh.
If it helps any,my unit's serial no. is 25840.The transistors are stamped as 7352 or something like that.I can't get down for a good look for serial nos.,I'm physically disabled.They are motorolas and the 7352 means my unit was built during the last week of '73,making it a '74 model.
