I've discovered that a few sheets of self adhesive vinyl flooring (I had some squares left over from my checkerboard kitchen floor, cut em to size) stuck on the top and bottom sheet metal of your components will do good things for the sound. Gets rid of some of the resonant ringing I suppose.You can find sheets of audio specfic products like dynamat at your local auto stereo installer which may be better but will cost more..
