Just ordered some wooden spikes to put under my preamp
Rosewood spikes with a brass tip
Rosewood receiving cups
have really no idea what to expect but I'm sure it will sound different than the stock feet which are typical Japanese mid-fi (Yamaha CX-1 preamp).
I'm not really sure where to put the feet for optimal effectiveness - aesthetics would dictate one spike center front and the two other at both rear corners, but if I look at the weight, then the transformer is on the left side - so maybe two spikes left, one spike center right side? Or just one spike on transformer side to concentrate the effect? I'm a bit lost here :-)
