Thanks for your patience in responding. When you put a meter across a battery to measure its DC voltage, the meter constitutes almost no load. Therefore batteries can read as if they are still making the correct voltage when in fact they are way down on current capacity,And the voltage may droop considerably when even a reasonable load is placed across the terminals.I have experienced this many times with 9 V batteries. Some thing to be aware of.
