The regulators are what usually fail when overloaded with current. See which regulator is in there, then go to data sheet to find current capacity. It's probably 1.5 amps. Heat dissipation is the culprit. You could drop in a couple new opamps, run it a while with attention to the regulator temp. Add heatsinks if they start running too hot. Transformer, if honestly rated, looks to handle a bit of current: 7.5VA is 0.5 amp @ 15V. Buy a better one that will fit, or rig a bigger one into the PS.

If this thing is fused, you could try installing a smaller fuse to keep it safe, but then it might blow from start-up inrush. Or fire it up and then quickly change the fuse before PS caps can discharge completely.

How much did it cost? If it blows up, fix it or buy another one. Although if one rail fails, it could take the fancy opamps with it. If you want to experiment, sometimes you gotta pay the price.
