RE: best value on receptacles

If you just want good quality without all the audiophile foo-foo, the Hubbell 5262 and 5362 will provide an audible improvement over the home store/contractor crap. The 5262 is rated 15 amps, the 5362 rated 20. The only difference between them is the configuration of the plug opening. The materials of all of the internal parts are identical, so the 20 amp offers no sonic advantage. You won't find them for sale in the usual retail places, but you know how the internet works, right? I got mine at Amazon for 5 or 6 bucks each.

If you're worried about vibrations of the receptacle or the cover, simply install a ten-cent foam insulator between outlet and cover. If it makes you feel better, spend a bunch of money on a carbon fiber contraption.

Before anyone blows a fuse, I am not claiming the Hubbell offers performance equal to the higher priced items. There is always something better, if you're willing to pay for it.

Peace,
Tom E
