It won't interact with the crossover negatively, but it won't have the desired loading/termination effect on the length of speaker wire because you now have the crossover filters interfering that action.
The whole point of this "tweak" is to prevent longish speaker wires in an RFI environment from turning into a resonating AM antenna that could feed RF back into your amplifier and contaminate its operation.
