Reread your last three sentences. I think you meant to write the CAPACITORS, especially the first one, are completely unnecessary. Why would any of the opamps be unnecessary?
I agree that, although they often sound better than monolithic chip opamps in the right part of a circuit, installing discretes is not a panacea for bad sound, and will sometimes cause more harm than good. OPA627's are possibly the best sounding single opamps available. If they're stable in the existing circuit and discretes don't fit properly for physical or electrical reasons, leave them be.
