Nice to learn that all your research and attention to detail paid off.
Removing the surplus opamps should not cause any harm, and it will reduce the load on the PS. Not sure you'll hear any improvement, but the system will run cooler which is good for all components.
Save up a few bucks and take the next step to discrete opamps for the high frequency portion. Duster's recent experience and my past experiments demonstrate their effectiveness.
