Since a higher draw op amp has the potential to increase ripple current and voltage as well as total power draw by the circuit...you want to look at the ripple in key circuit locations and also look at the various power supply components to ensure they are not overheating during worst case loading conditions, transformers are not being pushed into saturation, etc.
One of these audiophile pieces with a 10X overkill power supply wont even notice. Cheap off shored, mass produced, wal mart gadgets might die a quick heat death. It all depends.
