Solder probably will never form a bridge between the two pads on either side of the board. There is solder mask on the board for a reason, and solder will stay on the pads instead of flowing between them. You would need to flow an incredible amount of solder for that to happen, and I've never seen it. Flow enough solder to just fill the hole, encapsulating the pin on all sides, and cover the pad. With hot iron, should take less than 10 seconds. If it does take longer, stop and let caps cool. Internal high temp is bad.
Now you have maximum strength and conductivity.
