Tweaks for systems, rooms and Do It Yourself (DIY) help. FAQ.

No offense taken, but I never claimed

it was scientific in any respect. A couple weeks ago, I was admonished by a moderator for being too scientific. I am only trying to encourage others to make the same low cost comparison. I wish I had done it sooner myself. If this involved significant investment of time or money, I would certainly be more thorough in my trials and reporting. I do intend to put the original fuses back in after these new ones play for a while to learn if the difference really exists and if it's really an improvement. Must I have four other audiophiles in the room to confirm my impressions?

I have never posted any claims for any particular component that required serious outlay of cash or effort without carefully investigating the results myself, unlike some posters on this forum who make recommendations of untried components based solely on a hunch.

For two bucks and two minutes, I don't think anyone will be frustrated if it doesn't work out for them. That's pretty small potatoes to enlarge one's body of knowledge. Besides, broaching this topic has encouraged others with experience to relate their impressions. I value every one of them.

Interesting that you use ceramic fuses yourself, but don't share why. What does "empirically" mean in this context?

Peace,
Tom E
