not entirely accurate

A cold solder joint is one which becomes open circuit because there is not a consistent mechanical connection between the components being joined and the applied solder is stressed enough to break the joint or was not adequately melted to form a proper bond begin with.

Any decent compression mechanism will maintain contact whether through a tinned surface or directly onto base metal. The tinned surface will better resist corrosion, which is the real enemy of proper conductivity between joined components.
