I knew Bob Fulton. I do not recall ever hearing him suggest 40' cable.
But he did think 57" multiples were magic - for his ICs and speaker cables (Fulton Gold and Fulton Brown).
He did offer a 28' pair of cables - which were actually not quite 28 - but an even multiple of 57".
If you're someone who believes in the value of cables to enhance your sound, Bob Fulton got it started, AFAIK.
Polk came out with their cable in that general time frame as well, but they had issues with affecting the stability of some amps - as in BLAMMM!!!
