In my entire career, voicing hundreds of maggie systems, I've never encountered one pair that was set up as well as possible.So I assumed that more set-up work - which costs sweat, but no cash - could likely be done.
This sort of effort will always yield results that will literally swamp any differences you may hear in components.
That's not to say that addressing component issues isn't worthwhile, because it can be.
However, addressing how electrons travel in wire and electronics is one thing — addressing how sound waves are launched into the room and how they are received at the listening seat is far more critical and pays far bigger dividends.
FWIW - I wrote the owners' manuals for the MG-1s & MG-22s and the T-1D, so I have no small experience in this area.
