I just purchased a pair of x-overs custom-made and designed by pros for my DIY loudspeaker project. Caps are secured as are coils with nylon ties and glue for caps mounted vertically.
The build is very sturdy, neat and very well laid out. The bases are stiff plastic and are easily mountable on isolators but I prefer to build a separate enclosure and isolate that by having them out board of the loudspeaker cabinet. Kind of a well-built cigar box. Changes in components are easily done and vibration is not an issue.
Mounting anything on two-way adhesive tape or velcro invites vibration and should only be used in the experimental stage and not the final build.
