Q's re: Cap types and values.

Thanks, Al!

I very much appreciate your directing me to the pics. bartc had been kind enough to send me a very detailed explanation of your R-C network a few days ago. (What a nice guy! Thanks Bart!) The photo you referenced was actually a touch confusing to me ( although I ultimately figured out that the device was being used plugged in parallel at the outlet, like those Audio Prism "Quiet Lines".) But with bartc's excellent, highly detailed explanation, I believe I'm up to speed on the general idea.

On a power cord, do you prefer to mount the R-C network at male or female end (I would assume female/output end, but could be wrong.) Also, I like to deal with Mike Percy, so I would humbly ask if you could be kind enough to direct me to which caps and resistors you would recommend from his catalog, unless there are some types he doesn't carry that are optimal for this application (and if so, then could you direct me thataway?) I noticed there are lots of varities of the 'Reliable Capacitor' brand in Percy's catalog, any specific ones you highly recommend? Or would you recommend Solen or Hovland (I heard previous models of TRT caps were not suitable for such applications, but know nothing of his newest designs.) bartc recommended values of .47, .05 and .005, respectively. I will go with his recommendations unless you say different. Is it a good idea to mix and match different caps of similar voltages for a 'blended' sound? I really, really appreciate any help you can offer. I'm looking forward to trying this out!

Oh, yes! Did you ever get to try the Vishay resistor, and if so, any results worth mentioning? Was it nude or regular? And have you decided on an optimum resistance value? I noted the gentleman you referenced me to said something like 111.5 ohms was best to his ears. Does that coincide with your experience? I suspect that I am not the only one anxiously awaiting your findings.

Again, a BIG 'thanks' for all your efforts and assistance. They are so very much appreciated.

WS
