Re: Started cd63 mods .... WOW....Love the diff already !!

No problem, I knew you would here a differance. Just take it one step at a time. Heres what you wanna do next.

1. replace opamps with ad827 or similar

2. c611-614, cd15, cd16 are for the analog section of the dac and the opamps so use a high quality cap(pana FC, BG, Silmic, Muse..) 470uf-1000uf bypassed with a .1uf film cap

3. replace all resitors and orange caps in the analog filter section with 1% polystyrene caps and .1% precision resistors i prefer dale

4. Bypass HDAM, its only a buffer and you dont need it unless you are driving very long cales 2M+ or have a passive preamp take it out!

These 3 or 4 things are the biggest improvements you can make to the cd63 IMO. If you thought the first round of mods made a differance just wait til you get these done!!!! Now your done with the analogue stage, this will let you really hear any improvements you make to the power supply and digital sections!! A clock upgrade would be great but its kinda expensivem, so you may want to try the "clock hack" first. Good luck. Just take it slow and dont make any stupid little mistakes like I did! I freid my cd53:( accidentally dropped a small screw into the payer while the cover was off and it was playing needless to say it caused a short and freid either the computer or servo chip:( After all that work I have nothing:( I need to find another cd53/63 now, wish me luck!
