power supply for upgraded clock

I install;ed an upgraded clock in my cd63se player and right now im just running it off the stock 5v power supply. Ive read that giving the clock its own seperate power supply will increase its performance quite a bit. So a quick search of the net and I came up with a few diy power supply kits

What do you guys think?? Im more comfortable building a kit, im not confident enough to design and build my own. So am I on the right track?
