Cd67se mods

I just recently got a good deal on a cd67se, years ago I owned a cd63se which I did some mods to and I liked the sound alot. I have switched oover to a PC based digital setup, but I like to have a cd player for the summer so I dont have to run the PC when I just want to listen to a cd.
Anyways i plan on doing extensive mods to this player, more for fun than anything else as I could probably buy a pleyer for $500 on the used market that would ouytperform even a higly modded cd67. Ive heard that the digital psu is a weak point in these players, so I was thinking that adfter doing the usual damping, clock, opamp, cap upgrades, i could give the Dac and Analogue sections thier own external PSU, like Naims Hicap. Welbourne labs makes some inexpensive PSU kits I was lookin at. I believe i need 12v for the analogue stage and 5v for the Dac but im not sure I need to look at the service manual.

These kits look like they may be just what I need. I would just need to disconnect the stock supply and connect the new ones. The STock supply would take care of the transport, controls and screen while the Dac and analogue get thier own clean power.

Any opinions on my idea, I know it has been done before, so if anyone has done it let me know if you have any tips or tricks.
thanks
Frank
