I'm really not sure about the Sunfire, Cliff, but the Tube output on the Decware modified Sony is 100k impedance. I am sure the input on the Sunfire isn't nearly that low. Probably more like 25k *shrug*. The distortion I was experiencing was very minimal, and only on fast, strong peaks, so the inputs of the Sunfire are ALMOST able to handle the 3.5 volt output of the Sony tube stage. If soldering a vishay resistor on the back side of the inputs will work, like suggested in another post of this thread, I can easily do that. I just wouldn't want to blow something up in the tube output stage. I am good at following schematics and soldering circuitboards (I've built a few effects pedals for my bass guitar) but I know nothing ABOUT the circuits, or why a given component goes where.
