Paralleling DAC chips is a well known trick, it reduces noise and average bit weight errors. A difference between one and two chips is significant, I haven't tried more, may be someday I'll try.
Note that paralleling two DAC chips doubles output current and thus requires adjustment of I/V converter. In case of Thorsten's I/V converter/filter you should check if the transformer can handle 4ma quiescent current and if it can then replace 20 Ohm I/V resistors with 10 Ohm.
Since silver crown means special selection for lower bit weight errors (that is lower distortions) paralleling DAC chips should level the difference between standard and silver crown versions.Bye,
