I got the price wrong: EVS Nude Ultimate Attenuators are $225 single ended and $500 balanced. In case I wasn't clear above, these plug directly into your power amp inputs, thereby avoiding another pair of interconnects. Of the two places where an attenuator can be mounted, source or load equipment ends, they work better mounted on the load (amp) as you drive a higher signal level throughout the length of your cable that way and maximize your S/N ratio.
