Hi EdSThis won't help you much, but I thought you might be interested in the concept. A couple of weeks ago an audio bud brought over a pair of RCA in/outs with volume pots (made by Elma) mounted directly to the plugs. Along with the plugs he had a pair of MIT interconnects. The RCA plug/pot was connected to the cdp and the MIT ics ran directly to the amp. It's about as passive as you can get!
