As you say, further down (in the smallprint) ... it's a dual volume control!!If it had a selector switch as well, some (misguided) folks would call it a passive pre-amp. However, as "passive" and "amp" in the same sentence is an oxymoron, it would then be better described as a passive line-stage. However, without the selector, it's merely an "ordinary", dual-pot attenuator.
So, why not head your post "Cute dual-pot volume control"? After all, if it deserved the moniker "Ultimate" it would probably have to be a stepped attenuator using Vishays or some such, don'tcha think?
