Hi Elso,as I'm sure you know better than me, the Analog Devices DACs have high distortion specs, and Audionote's DACs have poor linearity by modern standards. In my opinion, the important thing is whether what you are hearing is closer to the truth.
Maybe you can turn it up louder to compensate to a percieved loss in impact. One of the things that always strikes me with live sound (not through a PA) is how high pressure levels can be without sounding tiring. THe neighbours might not agree, though.
Hopefully I'll have my TDA1541 up and running soon too.
