Well, that was before my time. Not only was I getting well filtered air behind the Iron Curtain, it must have been also the time when I did first DIY Audio Project, interfacing our "Stereo" turntable to the old big Valve radio in the corner, which was "Mono" but sounded real good.

Yup. And nowadays it is being in essence noted as fact (Mr. Self of cours demures as it does not affect single number THD Measurements). I have been aware of Dr. Ottals thesis on this and had the jucy bits in copy.

Yes, it seems that the doors into the hallowed pages of the JAES are being strongly guarded by the protectrs of the AUdio Orthodoxie who will no doubt soon bring back the Spanish Inquisition back. One wonders how Crowhursts 1957 Article made it in there, or did the Editors and review panel have a somewhat more openminded approach back than?
