For the record, it is technically possible to make an equivalent low noise input stage with a transistor pair compared to a 2SK389 input stage, but it would take the lowest noise transistors and low impedance scaling to do it. Normally, the added transistor current noise and normal Rbb' (input bulk transistor base resistance) will make the transistor differential input stage noisier.
