I cannot decide about these devices, which I don't think can be easily replicated. A friend of mine calls them Shitistones. They definitely have an effect and what you get is greatly affected by where you place them on units. At best they add quietness and clarity to the sound, but there is a cost to pay in dynamics and neutrality. Some positionings will totally dull the sound.I would buy one used and try it.
