Madisonears, the crossover was 49$ on Aliexpress, and the discrete opamps were 15$ each. I'm not risking much - yet I hate to blow things up ^^
I've looked again at quiescent current for Burson and Sparkos discretes; they are even lower than I remembered at respectively 14mA (Burson V5) and 28mA (Sparkos SS3602) per dual package. So, my discretes might be Chinese but I don't see why they would use so much more current. I know, it's a wild guess and one can never really be sure but... it kinda makes sense. My gut feeling is it's gonna be fine... fingers crossed. Ultimately someday I'd like to try the Sparkos ones. Or I might be extremely happy with my Chinese cheapies (users reviews seem to be stellar but can you really trust those?).
I've spent a bit of time looking at power transformers but as a matter of fact the one that's installed is a PCB type with pins going directly trough holes. Very difficult to replace it with something else; there's not much space either. Pity as I've seen some nice R-cores for a good price, but they just won't fit.
