Think how many purveyors of megabuck AC cords and ICs actually make wire. None, most likely. What they provide are geometrically different methods of routing the individual wires within a cable, which do affect the sonics but in rather unpredictable or equipment-dependent ways. But most of the basic wire used inside is probably available to anyone, if that person has the patience to go looking for it.
Whether or not Furutech makes their other products (other than fuses), the products themselves are clearly of high quality, which is all that matters to me.
