Any gauge larger than 22 AWG solid core copper is said to present audible anomalies due to skin effect, primarily smearing in the time-domain (phase) and a dulling of high frequencies. I tend to agree that larger gauge solid core wire sounds "meatier" in that images present more body with more pronounced tonal bloom than does smaller gauge solid core wire." Pray tell Lew, what was it that you didn't like about the thin round Mapleshade interconnects.
