RE: $1000 soldering iron?

Many years ago when I was working at ESL they bought a Metcal. I heard that it cost $800. I thought "what kind of fool pays $800 for a soldering iron. The irons we were using at the time were temperature controlled Wellers and I thought they were pretty good. Then I tried the Metcal and said "now I get it".

I still still personally still use my Weller, but I want a Metcal.
