Took me a little while to get a grasp of my feelings about the little taket batpure supertweeter, and I didn't want to post any impressions until I go back and forth a couple of times with it in and out of the system, which is a pair of Wilson Sophia 2. As seen in the pic, I added a little aluminum box, a stretch of Saec cables, and a wooden plinth to help it stay put. Here are my impressions:
They don't stand out too much in sound, but added a little air, a little Soundstage, and a little more delineation as if you dial up contrast a touch. Sounds seems mellower, and bass seems to have slightly less grunt. Without it, density seems better there's seemingly more bass.
Moving it back and forth affects the sound and integration and prefer having the driver just proud of the edges of the speakers. Also, its sound is actually more noticeable on 16/44 than high res (perhaps it's just adding artifacts with CD quality), but sounds more integrated with high res.
I guess I'll be giving it more time to run in (now at about 10-20 hours) and experiment more with different placements (perhaps facing up), and see if I have more to say about them.
As of now, they fall into the different, not sure if it's better, but worth a try category.
Cheers
