I have an even older model Sears table saw, with a cast iorn table. Most table saws have the feature to move the table relative to the blade so that you can get the blade parallel to the fence. The fence squareness to the table should be repeatable when you move it. When aligning the fence to the blade, you should adjust it so with the fence on one side of the blade (whichever you prefer) the back side of the blade just kisses the wood on the fence side as it goes thru.Jim N
