So that I might fill my listening room with all manner of tweaks, and thus, drive myself further down the road towards the looney bin, I'm building a set of Room Lenses per Jon Risch recipe.
As I put together a set of mock-ups to see what they do, I've encountered a couple of things I can't answer. First off, the spacing between the pipes. If I read the recipe right, there should be 21/32" between center and side pipes at the bottom, tapering out to 1" at top. Correct? Next up is the screen at the bottom of the pipes. It would appear that it has some other function than keeping the spiders out. It's the mesh size of nylon stocking that's got me wondering (real fine). Does this act as some sort of acoustic baffle, or am I just trying to make this more complex that it really is.
Please, help me move a little closer towards a life of obsessive neurotic tinkering.
