Question for John R. about Sonex foam pannels

John,

I've obtained 16 2'x4' pannels of illbruck Sonex foam pannels. I am considering using them in my listening room for first reflective sufrace absorption. Are there any recommendations you could offer or situations to avoid? If using these pannels could I create a situation which could be detrimental.

I have my full range speakers, Hales Rev-3's, setup along the long wall. My room is 14'x17'x8'. I am considering using the pannels on the wall behind an in the middle of my speakers as well as on the wall behind the listening position. Final placement would be on the side walls at first reflection points.

Would you recommend different placement? If so where? Would corner placement be more appropriate?

Your input would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance.

Greg
