While this Cable Guy thinks cables and power cords should be considered to be in effect extensions of the components they are connected to, not a tweak nor a mere accessory, they are the most vital aspect of system tuning (IME), and system tuning is the epitome of tweaking (IMHO). That said, and leaving cabling out of the equation, the second most vital aspect of system tuning is vibration control (IME), so I would concur with other folks who list vibration control as their most significant tweak. However, it would be a real pity to ignore various AC delivery gear (decisions, decisions...). Other tweaks tend to be icing on the cake, but often quite profound.
