If you want something that is effective for room treatment, try the Skyline device that consists of randomly arranged surfaces of various depths. This device is designed to break up the (coherent) reflection wave at rear wall, behind listener. It is very effective, and does not have any of the side effects of sonex or room tune panels. The skyline device can be replicated as a DIY project with a little effort, but at 99 bucks or so for the real thing, why bother.
