Carter,
I have a very small bedroom that I use as an amateur home recording studio. I put lots of fabric covered 703 panels on the walls to tame the slap echo and reduce the high frequency bounce. Everything was working fine. Then one day I realized that I couldn't stand the look of the fabric that I chose for the panels so I hung some curtains over them. There was no real change in performance. They still do what they are designed to do.
I don't know the exact material composition of the curtain fabric that I have. It's just some inexpensive home decorating material that my wife helped me pick out.
