For the wall panel that is placed in an open spot, yes, put some drywall or plywood on the back, but be sure to leave some air space between it and the fiberglass! This may require additional framing or support members.[ What thickness would be optimal for 22" and 16" traps, 1" or 2". ]
Neither, this kind of steeam pipe insualtion is sub-optimal, and it often requires a band-aid to make it work better. The Super Quick & Dirty traps work better, and are cheaper.
