You seem confused about what diffraction is.I am talking about the re-radiation of energy at the sudden discontinuity of the baffle edges. This is called diffraction. This will occur for most dome tweeters no matter what the size of the baffle is, as the tweeter is radiating across a 180 degree spread (and spraying sound right along the baffle) up to some medium high frequency.
This has nothing to do with the bass radiation experiencing a change from a 2 Pi to a 4Pi acoustic environment, which is often incorrectly called baffle diffraction.
