I have also come to the same conclusion as yours

Having spent a fortune on power treatment products previously, I only came to realise that sometimes you need to spend a lot of money just to find out that you didn't need to.

I have used a combination of Shunyata Powersnakes King Cobra, Vipers (2 pieces), Phython, Sidewider in my system, dallied with PS audio Lab cables, Straightwire Blue Thunder, Kimber Palladium, and in the end decided that the stock powercord, made in China, beats all of them in the aspect of neutrality and musicality. Power filtering for power-amp is not a good thing. Having also used Tice PB III C(a full year) and PS Audio Ultimate Outlet I can certainly say for sure that these products' do more damage than good to your power-amps' sound.

These days, I just plug everything directly to the wall. The pre-amp runs with a MIT Zipcord II. Seems that some filtering may be required for low-level amps. I am still experimenting with the SCD-1's powercord. Now it is down to just the stock vs the Kimber PK-10 Gold. The PK-10 seemingly gives clearer sound, but I can't help but notice that it soften imaging edges and compresses dynamics and it has a certain certain sonic signature that permeates over every recording. BTW, the more expensive Kimber Palladium is even worse on all these aspects. The stock powercord plus one Shakti-on-lines seems to work best. The onlly problem is that the Shakti will yield different sound when placed in different position along the stock powercord!

Because I only have 2 dedicated lines in my listening room, each line having 2 outlets, that means that I can only listen to one source at a time. I keep the digital line(SCD-1) separate from the analog (pre and power). If I want to listen to the TT, I'll replace the SCD-1 plug with the phonostage's. The TT's motor comes from another line being shared with the rest of the household. That gives me as clean as I ever heard at any time.

Read my posts on the track-repeat procedure on digital players. A tell-tale sign that your power treatment is overly excessive is when you don't hear the difference doing the 12-secs repeat on every track.
