Dr B. is totally right!

Instead of wasting time playing with new "ole timer" circuits you'll definitely be better off focusing in one or several types of designs, paying special attention in improving the initial performances in verious aspects of the design: voltage amplifier stage, current regulation, coupling methods, biasig methods, PSU mods and improvements, B+ regulations, better use of quality parts, etc. Sky is the only limit you know.

Another criteria I have that governs my choice of "ancient" tube circuit designs is that while some of them are inherently good, I found lots of others which have a rather narrow bandwidth characteristics, governed with extras such as poor distortion level, topologies, PSU designs, etc. These are the designes I would definitely try to stay away with.

Good luck!
