Tho not credited there, Lucas got the idea for this circuit from an amp circuit originally schemed up by Paul Joppa a few years back, a variation of which was published in VALVE in answer to a WE437A amp design from Marc Veyer of France. The single gain stage 417A amp is lovingly known as the potato amp ( a one tuber, get it?). The ultimate version would be a parafeed version, known as a paraspud. Bear in mind that the circuit's gain is negative....
