Okay, as per my post below you seemed shocked that the toshiba replacement worked..I mentioned below that datasheet wise the gain specs are similar for the sanyo and toshiba devices. After measuring hfe(o version of toshibas) they measure slightly higher than the exisiting sanyos and are better matched gain wise. on the sanyos i measured vast differences 45/60/125/112 hfe higher numbers for the pnp..now, my question is if the circuit was designed with a 15mhz device in mind, how would using a 30mhz device which is not that much higher cause me any more problems than the 15mhz device which is far from slow in itself?..
